Black Velvet Sun was an American alternative rock band that was formed by five students attending the University of California at Santa Barbara, California in 2007. While influenced by a large range of music (everything from electronica to classical to trip-hop), they saw the basis of their sound as rock. The band decided to part ways in 2012 and lead singer, Analise Nelson went on to form her electropop solo project, Anabot.
