Artist
Born with a name comprised of two (Ana and Elise) and made of many ethnicities (Mexican and Italian to name a couple), Analise Nelson - the person behind Anabot, which can be spelled as AnalogRobot, too - lives the many aspects of her life in hybridity. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado and was surrounded by her parents' diverse taste in music, which ranged from Jazz to Progressive Rock to Folk. Now she takes her love for 60's Brit and Surf Rock, her nearly ten years performing in Jazz Ensembles, her experience writing for orchestra at UC Santa Barbara, and love for electronic pop and hopes to create music that is just as much of a hybrid as she is. Some old, some new - all her. A little analog, a bit digital, Anabot is a pop time machine with a rock engine. It's about trying to understand the present by musically travelling into the past and painting the future with your hands. Fate is a social construct, one that you are fully capable of defying and defining if you are brave enough to travel along your own path.
