Currently one of the best live acts from the (US) Pacific Northwest, Black Eyes & Neckties (or ‘BENt’ as they are known to some) merge dark garage punk and horror rock with an infectious frantic energy. They have won the award for “best Rock Band” five years in a row! (2004-2008) as voted on by the readers of Bellingham, WA’s local monthly What’s Up! Magazine. They have recently signed with William Morris Agency UK and are embarking on their first UK tour in May of 2009. Their first album “Stiletto” was released on New Regard Media. For the second record, BENt hooked up with Clickpop Records to create Apparition!. It was tracked in August of 2007 at Jackpot! Studios in Portland, and was engineered Adam Pike. Don Slack, of Seattle’s KEXP-FM, praised the new record as “a fierce blend of loud, buzzing guitars, spooky organ lines, pummeling rhythms, gravelly, shouted vocals, and horror-inspired lyrics.” Set to be released in April of 2009 is a split 12” with their friends The Russians (released on Krazy Keith records, with assistance from Clickpop Records). Black Eyes & Neckties have toured regionally, and are especially popular both in the Pacific Northwest and, to a certain extent in the Southwest as well, having swung through Arizona and New Mexico several times.
