Artist
Harry Lillis “Bing” Crosby (May 2, 1903 - October 14, 1977) was an American singer and actor whose career lasted from 1926 until his death in 1977. Bing Crosby’s influence on popular culture and popular music is considerable, as from 1934 to 1954 he held a nearly unrivaled command of record sales, radio ratings and motion picture grosses. He is usually considered to be a member of popular music’s “holy trinity” of ultra-icons, alongside Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Gary Crosby had a commercially appealing voice, not dissimilar to his father, and later worked on a music production/album that would combine electronically the singing voice of Gary and his father in much the same way Natalie Cole did with her father, the great Nat “King” Cole on the “Unforgettable” album. Gary’s album was never finished due to his illness with lung cancer. He passed away in 1995 at the age of 62. http://www.last.fm/music/Bing+Crosby http://www.last.fm/music/Gary%2520Crosby?ac=gary%20crosby User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
