Billy Hill and the Optimists is a fictional band, created by a young Musician from Ontario, Canada. They are also known as Fading Sunset in releases not tied to the fictional band, or 21poptartz on YouTube. Their style of music mainly consists of ambient music and plunderphonics. They began releasing music on Bandcamp, and started by creating their own fan-made version of the popular ambient project Everywhere at the End of Time by The Caretaker. Fading Sunset's music is heavily inspired by The Caretaker and other ambient artists, which comes off very clearly in their two most recent fully released albums, which are both concept albums based around their fictional band.
