Benjamin Schaefer (*1981) received classical piano lessons for many years before switching to jazz in 1998. Workshops have since brought him together with such acclaimed musicians as pianists Jacques Loussier and Chick Corea, trombonist Nils Wogram and drummer John Hollenbeck. From 2001 to present, Benjamin has studied jazz piano and composition in Cologne with Hans Lüdemann, John Taylor and Joachim Ullrich. He was part of the German national youth jazz orchestra (BuJazzO) from 2004 to 2006 and has toured several European countries as well as the Ucraine and seven Central American states. Apart from his artist work - which also includes pop, chanson and theater projects -, he works as a music teacher and workshop instructor.
