Batswing Saloon were an all-female five piece band from Brisbane, Australia in the late 1980s. They released one single - Harold & Maude b/w Split Level World. Their indie-rock guitar sound received a lot of airplay on Brisbane's independent radio station, 4ZzZ-FM. The song Harold & Maude (inspired by the movie of the same name) features on Behind the Banana Curtain, a double CD compilation album released by 4ZzZ in 2000 to mark the station's 25th anniversary. The group disbanded around 1990. None of the 5 members had played previously in other bands, and only one - guitarist Michelle Bowden - went on to play in other Brisbane bands, most notably Gravelrash.
