Baiage was a Norwegian rock group founded in Toten, Oppland, Norway in 1978. Despite a short-lived career, the band was forever etched into the annals of Norwegian music history as a result of a raucous and anarchic performance during a televised final of a national rock band contest (NM i rock '79), earning them an instant recording contract. Their output, consisting of a mere four songs, was lyrically crass and profane, with political and social commentary throughout. The group split shortly after the release of the 1979 EP Baiage X 4. Notably, two of the group's members (Eldar Vågan and Bjørn Berg, along with Baiage's bus driver Arnulf Paulsen) would form Vazelina Bilopphøggers later that year, and made an appearance at next year's NM i rock contest. The Baiage song "Hallingsprætten" would be re-recorded for that group's 1983 album, På tur. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
