Bad Meets Evil was an American hip hop duo consisting of Detroit-based rappers Royce da 5′9″ ("bad") and Eminem ("evil"). The duo formed in 1997, and their name was derived from the song "Bad Meets Evil" on Eminem's album "The Slim Shady LP" (1999), which featured Royce da 5′9″. They debuted with the double single "Nuttin' to Do" and "Scary Movies" in 1997, with "Scary Movies" later appearing on the soundtrack of the 2000 comedy film "Scary Movie". The duo initially broke up following a feud between Royce and members of Eminem's group D12. The dispute ended after the death of D12 member Proof, a close associate of both rappers, in April 2006. In 2011, after Royce's supergroup Slaughterhouse signed with Eminem's Shady Records, Bad Meets Evil reunited to release the EP "Hell: The Sequel". The EP reached number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Its lead single, "Fast Lane", peaked at number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the second single, "Lighters", featuring Bruno Mars, reached number four. The duo collaborated again for "Vegas" on the 15-year anniversary compilation album "Shady XV" (2014) and recorded two tracks for the 2015 boxing film "Southpaw", titled "All I Think About" and "Raw". They also reunited for "Not Alike" on Eminem's album "Kamikaze" (2018), and Eminem appeared on Royce's track "Caterpillar" from the album "Book of Ryan" (2018).
