Lushlife are BJ Cole, Roger Beaujolais and Simon Thorpe. Sting described BJ Cole as ‘the best pedal steel player in the world’. In a career stretching back to the mid-Sixties BJ’s recording credits read like a ‘Who’s Who’ of rock music, BJ has carved a reputation as the supreme innovator with his instrument adapting it across numerous genre’s of music. Roger, like BJ, has taken his unusual instrument, the vibraphone into new contexts time and again. He is renowned as a master of the jazz idiom and is considered the leader in his field, with a session CV as long as his instrument. Simon Thorpe is fast becoming one of the UK’s favourite bassists, known for his exquisite style and compelling raw sound.
