Ania Arteaga is a musician from Puerto Montt, Chile. Her origins in music date back to her pre-teen years, as a child singer at the church, and later in her first steps in funk music, where she joined a small orchestra. Ania Ivania trained as an educator in Music Pedagogy at the Metropolitan University of Educacion Studies (UMCE, Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación) and from the capital city of Santiago she began a relationship with soul, funk and jazz musicians, which led her to work with the trombonist Alfredo Tauber, the musician who produced her first work. Inspired by the calm life and the covered skies of Puerto Montt, Ania Ivania not only incorporated that mood into her songs but she reacted to it and contrasted that grayness with colorful neo-soul-type costumes in her presentations.
