Artist
No one can ever accuse this female-fronted Seattle trio of being slackers. Formed in 2000, The Amazombies already have 3 U.S. tours under their belts as well as a self-released EP. Now they're back again with 12 blazing new songs to stimulate your eager little ears. "Bitches and Stitches" showcases the band's unique mesh of musical styles; old school '77 roots with an street-punk edge and a bit of pop-punk thrown in to lend a catchy, fun quality to the music. The band is musically tight, complete with dynamic drumming, scorching guitar and jagged bass lines- but it's impossible to deny that the vocals are a huge reason for the appeal of The Amazombies. Lead singer Kim has a thick melodic voice (ala Joan Jett) and is often complimented by Noriko's energetic backups. Hell, even the lone guy member, Josh, kicks in his vox on "That's Right!" "Bitches and Stitches" has the kind of infectious flavor that is quickly sweeping the U.S. punk scene off of its collective ass via the Pacific Northwest, as seen in bands like the Briefs and the Pretty Girls Make Graves.
