Akher Zapheer is an Arabic rock band based in Amman, Jordan. The band was formed in 2007 by singer and songwriter Basem Sayej. Known for blending rock music with Arabic lyrics, Akher Zapheer addresses social, cultural, and personal themes, often reflecting youth perspectives and regional realities. In 1 October 2012, the band released its debut album Converse Culture (إعكس ثقافة), which explored social and cultural issues in the Arab world alongside more personal material. The album benefited from the band’s underground roots, allowing a raw and direct expression of youth angst and independent artistic identity. the album contained songs like: Keef Akoun Sadeeq (كيف أكون صديق), Akherto Lahen Hazeen (أخرتو لحن حزين), Cacharel (كاشاريل). Following the album’s release, Akher Zapheer went on hiatus between 2013 and 2016 due to Basem Sayej’s commitments outside Jordan. The band later reformed with a new lineup, introducing three new members who replaced the former ones. In 2020, the band released their second album, Emm El Mousiqa (إم الموسيقى), which was considered the group’s official comeback. The album showcased a more mature sound and reaffirmed the band’s identity and musical direction. It featured tracks such as Nayem (نايم), Ismo Albi (اسمه قلبي), and the title track Emm El Mousiqa (إم الموسيقى). Akher Zapheer released their third album, Tho3ban, on June 18, 2022. including songs like Khatem (خاتم), Tho3ban (ثعبان), and Jumanji (چومانچي), On July 7, 2023, the band re
