Adelaide Pereira da Silva (born in São Paulo,1928) is a Brazilian painter and composer. In an early age, she learned to play the piano with her mother and later had piano lessons with Hans Bruch and composition classes with Osvaldo Lacerda and Camargo Guarnieri. She began working as a music teacher and composer in 1960, and composed a number of works based on Brazilian folk music. She was also successful as a painter.
