Adam Monroe is a new singer/songwriter signed to Go Digital Records (www.godigitalarecords.com). His music is difficult to categorize, but is best described as “piano based alternative/progressive rock”. A native from northern New Jersey, Adam dove into music with piano lessons at the age of five and although he has received some formal classical and jazz training, most of his abilities are the result of years of playing by ear and improvisation. While in high school, Adam began playing drum kit and keys for a local alternative rock band. Over the next 8 years while attending college and professional school, Adam continued to pursue his love of music by teaching himself to play guitar and continuing to strengthen his song writing abilities. Fundamentally influenced by his experience as a drummer/percussionist, Adam’s style of piano play ranges from haunting soft melodies to aggressive, complex patterns and arpeggios. Balancing deeply emotional lyrics, powerful vocals, and rhythmically complex instrumentation, Adam proves to be a favorite of both casual listeners and analytical musicians. Adam has recently been named artist of the month by OpenGString.com, Youtuber of the week by the Remy Radio Show out of Bloomington, IL (101.5 WBNQ), and won the "Solo Performance" category on Ourstage.com for November '07.
