Artist
Adam LaMotte is a songwriter originally from Huntington Beach, California that, more often than not, plays all of the instruments on his dense home recordings. Now studying psychology at Bard College in upstate New York, Adam's material often deals with the complexities of the interior life and the world inside one's brain. It only makes sense, then, that his probing songs get stuck in your head. With vocal harmonies that recall the Beach Boys, and a deep and abiding love of Tom Waits, Ira Glass, and the Talking Heads, Adam creates music that is rich, toe-tapping, and sometimes poignantly sad. Though his genre explorations include drum machines, classic country music, and choral writing, the results of his records are almost always some form of crafted pop. For many years, Adam has published his music as a podcast entitled "Life from Juneau, Alaska." More recently, he has released his music with the netlabel Future Folk Records. "Humans Want Wrong" is his FFR debut, though he is currently working on a follow-up. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
