There are at least 2 different bands named Acta Non Verba. One of them was started in Portland, Oregon in 1996. The band included the following members: Austin Curtis (Drums) Garret Curtis (Bass, Vocals) Jon Thomas (Guitar, Vocals) Adam Claborne (Vocals) The average age of this band was 16 yrs old. A group of "Nirvana-wannabes from Portland" - they had a grungy sound but kept away from the verse-chorus-verse structure, and almost organized their songs as a jazz ensemble. Acta Non Verba (Portland) produced one album before disappearing off the local scene. Recording the entire album in 3 days of March 1997, with a $100 budget was this band's big break. Austin and Garret (brothers) moved to Honolulu, Hawaii the day after recording. Needless to say, few if any persons have ever heard of the band, and even fewer own a copy of their limited release.
