Radiation Year was an experimental post-hardcore band from Portland, Maine, United States. Based out of Maine, Radiation Year has a creative and fun sound coupled with a colossal stage presence and high energy make for an exciting show. From their Myspace: Sticking to what they know is what Radiation Year does best. After forming in late 2004, the band underwent several lineup and sound changes , finally released a full length album, Age Of The Everglades, in early December of 2007. Bringing together various sound influences, the band members themselves are what make the sound so incredibly unique, altering Maine's sound forum. Radiation Year has given Maine something to sing about; literally. Each new song released can be heard screamed by the entire crowd when Radiation Year hits the stage. From jazz, electronica and hip hop to indie and hardcore, Zack Sears, Nicholas Chiasson (from Louisiana), Seif Al-Malky, Chris Sweet, and new addition Brandon Mace come together to create a distinctly volatile sound; redefining what Maine’s music scene is all about. Mace has joined with vocals, electronics, and an intense light show and chaotic stage presence. Coming forth with an intense live show, gritty sound, and a clearly defined vocal style, Radiation Year brings together people of all musical backgrounds; having shared the stage with bands such as The Used,Chiodos, The Bled and Saosin, and even Maine’s own Dead Season.
