Abjad Aksara, or Abjad for short, is a four-piece band consisting of Adam (vocals, guitar), Sairul (guitar), Ekmal (drums), and Hazrel (bass guitar) from Malaysia. The group embarked on their first serious attempt in music under the moniker . A five-piece alternative indie outfit, together with close friend Putat on vocal duty, the boys were actively playing shows all over the Klang Valley. In 2019, the outfit went on to produce a self-titled 4-track EP followed up later with the release of their single ‘Kenang’ in 2020. Fast forward to 2022, the boys decided to give it another go, but with a more defined intention and commitment this time round. Now known as Abjad Aksara, the outfit decided to identify themselves as an ‘alternative rock’ outift, for a lack of better words. Due to the fluidity and genre-bending nature of Abjad’s song writing, the group decided that a blanket term like ‘alternative rock’ would be just the right fit for them moving forward. After the release of their debut single ‘Bayang-Bayang’ and ‘Baldu’ earlier in 2022, Abjad Aksara is set to follow up with 'Pelihara' as their latest single before a full-length release of ‘Menjadi Manusia’ in 2023.
