A Ghost of Flare is a Japanese Metalcore band hailing from Tokyo. The band, previously signed to Garimpeiro Records, is now associated with Epictive Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Yojiro, guitarist and producer Yu-taro and bassist Takuya. The formation of the band was in 2009 when founding members vocalist Kaname, guitarist Yu-taro, guitarist Tsukko, bassist Taichi, came together. They were, and are still supported in recordings and live by drummer Gaku Taura (η°ζ΅¦ζ₯½), formerly in Nocturnal Bloodlust. Inspired by bands like Parkway Drive and envy, guitarist Yu-taro aimed to create a similar sound infused with Japanese lyrics. Following their inception, the band actively participated in live performances centered in Tokyo. Their debut single "swollen eyes" was released on June 22, 2012, followed by the release of their first mini-album "Kodou" (ιΌε) on March 6, 2013, through Redfield Digital. They were also featured on the compilation "WE ARE LOUDER THAN YOU," released on March 15, 2013. On June 12, 2014, they released the single "Lucid dreaming." After the release of "Lucid dreaming," founding vocalist Kaname, guitarist Tsukko, and bassist Taichi departed from the band. Despite being the only remaining member, Yu-taro sought new members to keep the band active. Eventually, vocalist Yojiro and bassist Takuya joined the lineup, and the band continued with support from drummer Gaku Taura. Their album "Aerials" was released on October 4, 2017, through Epictive
