"There was no open door so we broke in" This is the approach that the parisians from 80blast picked up for the release of their first album " A hopeful, sad & compulsive episode". Defining itself as "artist-producer", the band didn't neglect the production of the 12 titles composing this opus by assigning the production to Arnaud Bascunana ( Luke, Déportive, No One Is Innocent ) and the mastering to the New Yorker Ue Nastasi ( Panic! At the Disco, Soilwork, Devil Driver, Type O Negative, Sepultura, Fear Factory, Paradise Lost). 80blast has chosen to distribute the album in an independent way through their website www.80blast.com: an album with 12 songs sold for less than 10€ , the same price as on a download platform! That's for the compulsive part of the thing. “Only one thing to do : just try again and again. And if we fail together, we'll feel sad but proud. Only one thing to do : just try again and again. And if we fail together, we'll feel sad but true.” Coming from the french metal/rock scene, 80blast draws its inspiration from US rock bands such as QOTSA, Foo Fighters or At The Drive In and gives us here a rock album successfully completed and measuring up to their references: 12 rock titles with catchy riffs and a persisting chorus.
