77 in October was a Wheeling, WV band that played shows from Dec. 31st, 2001 until May 2004. The band started with Brian Spragg and Brandon Wilburn writing terrible songs on guitar in his room around 2000. Pat Spragg, Brian's non-identical twin joined on to play bass. From there, Brandon tricked vocalist Jason Petri into the band by offering him a hand job. After many failed attempts at finding a drummer, the band obtained the services of Mike Marcus. This relationship would produce the forgetable 2002 album, "Rational Thinking is Getting Old." This self-recorded rush job would feature many of the songs that would appear on a later 77 album. Around the beginning of 2003, the most memorable phase of 77 would come with the addition of Joe on the drums. This would bring the best and final lineup of 77's short history in Ohio Valley music hell. With this lineup, 77 recorded their final/only descent album entitled, "Sound Effects Added to Lessen Tragic Impact." The band played a few shows in some bigger markets, but mainly cut its teeth on small, strange venues in various bum fuck towns in Ohio, West Virginia, and PA. While the experience was fun, most audiences were not interested in the band's brand of noisy hardcore.
