Dallas Campbell - bass, vocal Mikey Iafrate - guitar, vocal Sean Decker - guitar, vocal Mike Sneeringer - drums Killed At Camp was a screamy indie rock band that formed among college friends in Wheeling, WV in 1998. Members had been in previous WV bands such as Five Minute Conspiracy, Hawthorne, and Egress. The sound was a disjointed configuration of sounds ranging from early '90's screamo, metal, glam rock, noise, and hardcore. Influences on this band may have included such acts as Harriet the Spy, Fugazi, At The Drive-In, The Party Of Helicopters, T Rex, Lifetime, and Grain. The band released 2 CD-R's on the band members' lo-fi label, Cole Slaw Recordings. The first CDEP, Bingo Chips for Execution, circulated about 100 handmade copies, and the second release, the full length Eating Cake and Playing, had a handmade pressing of about 200 copies. Both releases were recorded in college dormitories at Wheeling Jesuit University. Killed At Camp enjoyed a growing local and regional following and played shows with such notable bands as The Dismemberment Plan, Zao, The Movielife, Ann Beretta, Error Type 11, Piebald, New Found Glory, Saves the Day, New Terror Class, The Party of Helicopters, and Kill Your Idols. Undoubtedly, the highpoint of the band's live performance list was an April 2000 appearance with Shaggy in their hometown of Wheeling.
