11:00A.M. is a collaboration between emcee, Eleven and producer, A.M. Breakups. The combination of the two artists’ names is what makes 11 in the morning so significant. The group, just like the name, is a perfect combination. Eleven’s wordy, complex and sometimes politically charged lyrics find a comfortable home floating atop of A.M. Breakups’ lush, ethereal beats. They met at SUNY Purchase, a State run art college in Upstate New York. The school has produced many well respected musicians over the years as varied as Despot & J-Zone within Hip-Hop and Wooden Wand & Langhorne Slim outside of it. Now in 2008, 11:00A.M. comes along at just the right time, literally. As Election Day approaches, they deliver tracks like “Election Day of the Dead” which re-hashes the shame of the 2004 process. As the economy faces its greatest challenge in recent history, they deliver “*The Last Thing You Want” which attacks the credit crunch with a sarcasm and wit that may just make it the last thing you want to hear if you are currently in denial about the situation yourself. You may have noticed the asterisk in the title of this release, that asterisk is answered by the aforementioned “*The Last Thing You Want”. Simply put, nothing is free son.
