# 정수년 This album merits attention for its thoughtful exploration of the haegeum's expressive possibilities within contemporary contexts. Rather than treating Korea's traditional bowed string instrument as a historical artifact, the work demonstrates how classical training and institutional experience can generate fresh artistic questions. The recordings reflect a musician's sustained inquiry into timbre, phrasing, and sonic texture—concerns that bridge centuries and genres without sacrificing instrumental authenticity. What emerges is neither nostalgic nor avant-garde, but genuinely curious: a body of work that invites listeners to hear the haegeum not as a preserved tradition, but as a living, evolving voice capable of addressing present aesthetic concerns.
