Title: The title of the Timed Solutions EP is taken directly from the second track on the album (the first time the band has ever named an album or EP after an actual song). It was chosen as the EP title simply because the band felt it reflected their musical style and direction the most on the CD. Recording: The recording process for the Timed Solutions EP was an amazing experience, as stated by Mike. The band entered MatchVox Studios in Toronto with producer Jamie Matsukubo (deciding to not record at Machinehead anymore), signing a four song deal with the studio. They began scratch tracking and drum tracks in May of 2008, and slowly worked around school and work to get the album done. It was the first time they had spent more than just a couple days on tracking. They tracked all instrumentation in May and June, and spent most of July doing vocals and synthesizing. It was the first time they had also included a large number of gang vocals and chants throughout the CD, something they'd always wanted to do before, but never had the time or money to incorporate everything they wanted. Mixing and mastering took place throughout August, and it was finished towards the end of the summer. The band intends to record there again in the future. Meaning: Three of the four songs (Timed Solutions, Still Spins, and The Executioner) were written by Johnny, and focus on the internal struggles people have with themselves every day, whether it's about relationships, work, or life in general
