Released December 14, 2024, spanning a short 36 minutes, the first studio album by Album Of The Year (usually shortened to AOTY) user Ace Of Thorns, formerly known as Ace Of Spades (punk), is a sporadic, emotional album dealing with topics of suicide, depression, and death. The artist talks about this on the Bandcamp page for the album, reading: "the view from is a record about suicide. if you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts, i want you know that you’re not alone. it’s why i made this album. it’s music that would’ve helped me at my lowest. it’s a character portrait of me at my lowest." Singles from the album (crimson, over now, ghosting, with love) were released as teasers on her Bandcamp from December 4 - 13. The album was based off a clip from the 15th episode of the 6th season of BoJack Horseman where a character reads a poem titled: "The View From Halfway Down" , coinciding with the album's topic of suicide. Right now, the album is available on all major streaming services (Bandcamp, YouTube, Spotify, etc.).
