Carfire-The Quietist 2009 Recorded in four days in July, 2009, The Quietist is a bizarre and funny album of weird experiments involving heavily mutated samples, sound effects and other sonic effluvia. Alternately scary and goofy, no vocals or actual musical instruments were used in the making of The Quietist. The album's title comes from the religious doctrine of Quietism, a philosophy that swept 17th century Europe, and was condemned by the Pope as heretical. The title is clearly ironic, since The Quietist is, in actuality, noisier than a catfight in a scrap metal yard.
