Summary This EP is the 4th release of the german band "Tinef". It contains the two tracks "The Loose" and "The Renaissance", which are also available as single releases. It was released on 24th of october 2009. The Release is available as a limited 8cm CD in self-made paperboard container and for free download as mp3. Technical Information The EP was recorded in Berlin at "ds-tontechnik" recording studio. For the Interlude some free field binaural recordings were made with a dummy head microphone. For a binaural stereo experience, this song is best listened to with headphones. "The Loose" was analog mastered with a Grundig quarter inch tape machine. "The Renaissance" was recorded with only 3 different microphones at a time. Trivia The Name of the album is influenced by the italian mathematician and physicist Vito Volterra and his functions about population dynamics in predator–prey equations. In the artists sense this function describes the mood and constitution of a human being with its "Ups and Downs" similar to abundances, which always fluctuate around a fixed mean. Also the sine-wave in acoustics is such an abundance. The two songs however are trying to describe two phases of an abundance: the lowest part is represented by "The Loose" with sad tunes and a desperate prevailing mood. "The Renaissance" with a catchy melody and a vivace current builds the contrary. After the album "Fear Free Room" Tinef started to name their songs with the prefix "The" as a parody to
