Great art requires no explanation, so obviously these pieces do require something. Tracks 1 & 2 are stochastic minimalism. Tracks 3 & 4 are stochastic microtonal minimalism. The pitch, duration and placement within the measure were all randomly generated. Choice of clef for each line, sound parameters and overall mix were determined. Note selection is equally probable between any of the twelve note choices in a 12 tone equal temperament for tracks 1 & 2 and any of the nineteen note choices in a 19 tone equal temperament for tracks 3 & 4. Note duration is weighted but note placement is equally probable. Whether a measure receives a note is based on a Bernoulli trial with a graduating degree of chance for each successive line. Technically these pieces are not minimalist, but rather a sort of minimal minimalist or something like that.
