"Synesthesia" blends elements of ambient pop, electronic, and instrumental sounds and beats combined with simple lyrics and melodic female vocals. The repetitious lyrics are surrounded by electronic and ambient instrumentals giving it a relaxing and chill mood. "The vocals are what I start with, and I look to write the instrumentals to create the story and engage the emotion I am seeing," Kitty Pae explains. "It's been a great journey technically, emotionally, and professionally," she explains, as she just recently became forward to the public about being a voice hearer and her disability. Artist Kitty Pae started hearing voices in her early 20s and writes music as a form of therapy. While developing the album, "Synesthesia," she shared a short conversation at the recording studio stating, "If you could see what I hear..." and this is how the album was inspired - creating different instruments and sounds joined with simple female vocals and describing it with the title of the album as "Synesthesia".
