Snowboots is the debut album by 25-year old Williston, North Dakota singer-songwriter and pianist Brynn Andre. The record showcases Andre’s fluency in several generations of orchestral pop – from French Yé-Yé (France Gall, Francoise Hardy), to Northern European chamber (Camera Obscura, El Perro del Mar), to piano-led American (Tori Amos, Charlotte Martin). Discovered by Words On Music record label head Eric Ostermeier in 2004 when Brynn was 19, Andre’s compositions drift between the naked poetics of a young composer singing to herself on piano and a flood of stylish orchestral movements – arranged by Ostermeier and recorded at Words On Music’s Minneapolis studio. The album was mixed by his brother Marc Ostermeier in Baltimore, MD. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
