sunslide debut of songs (follow up to minimalist 'sudvar ep) was composed by nigel simpson and produced by Jamie Johnson and Mark MacCarthy at Gallery Studio in west London, while nigel was working in a North London Deli. It was here in 2004 that nigel met phil manzanera who suggested he might play piano on his album 6pm and 50 minutes later. One coffee led to another and nigel decided it might be fun to complete some incomplete tunes and record them. This was completed in 2008 and will be available through expression records. He's taken a year off from the North London Deli to be a full time musician, providing a soundtrack to the BBC Imagine documentary on Sir Richard Rogers. 2009 will see sunslide tour 'intimate' venues of recommended unusualness and this will be filmed and a DVD made available with a bonus audio cd. sunslide are now working on 'spa' which will contain more electronica soundscapes with some songs. Inspired by the topography of David Bowie's masterpiece 'low'; sharing the idea of a three letter title. In fact here is a prelim manifesto from this work in progress: Taking the waters, going on a retreat and getting away from it all is part of the process of modern life, where style of recovery has replaced holiday escape, and you are encouraged to reap what you sow in terms of your own well-being.
