ROME is Armand Hammer's sophomore studio LP, released on November 3, 2017. It comes just over 4 years after their debut, and after a small hiatus from woods, brought upon through writer's block. It follows his 2017 LP Known Unknowns, which was similarly produced by Blockhead, an identical context to their 2013 album Race Music, which came after the Blockhead-produced Dour Candy. Stereogum placed Rome at number 28 on the "40 Best Rap Albums of 2017" list. Pitchfork awarded the album with a glowing score of 8.1/10. The album was supported by no official singles, but the track "It Was Written" was released with a music video on October 27, just one week before the album's release. On May 4, the duo would release a video for "Barbarians" and "Overseas (Epilogue)" the two final tracks on ROME, combined in one video. Thirdly, there's a video for "Pergamum," which released on May 31, 2018, just a week before they would start the rollout for their next project, Paraffin. In the few months after ROME's release, the duo would release three remixes. The Willie Green "Carnies" remix on December 10, 2017, the Blockhead "Dry Ice" remix on December 21, 2017, and finally the L'Orange "Dead Money" remix which released on March 2, 2018. Similar to their "Black Ark" remix, this can be found on SoundCloud. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
