"Ride the Wind" was released by Vic Sadot as an LP in 1988, and as a cassette in 1989. The recordings were done at Roger Hoilman’s Sound Lab Studios in Newark, DE, and the pressing was done at Disc Makers in Philadelphia, PA. Crazy Planet Band was the showcase band for Vic Sadot’s original topical songs. It's first paying gig was in autumn of 1979 at the Deer Park Tavern in Newark, DE. The Crazy Planet Band line-up had Vic Sadot on acoustic and electric guitars and as lead vocalist, Rob Sadot on electric guitar, Tris Hovenac on electric bass guitar, Ed Gorski on keyboards and piano accordion, Roberta Greenspan on violin, and Rob Chrinside on the drums. Ellen Lebowitz and Stacy Chirnside contributed strong back-up vocals. The band released a 45 rpm single in 1985 with Good Time Delaware on the A Side and Born To Win on the B side. Therefore, Ride the Wind was the first album released by Vic Sadot and his circle of musician friends in Delaware and Maryland. A key contributer was Hank Carter, famous for establishing the early saxophone blues sounds of "George Thorogood & the Delaware Destroyers", as they were known back then. Hank Carter played his signature saxophone on Beer Muscles, Yup It Up, Comeback Kids, and the title cut, Ride the Wind. The Frog Jog was popular with young children, who for many years in succession would put on the frog costumes that the band had made for the annual Newark (DE) Community Day and other summer events.
