Cloud Party's "Real" was recorded live over the Internet at P-Wave Studios in Reading PA, USA, on Halloween 2000 and in front of a live studio audience of about 50 hand-picked folks (including Lizzie Hale of Halestorm--check out her music too!) Over the next 3 months, the band reworked the tracks, added stuff (cheated!) to create a "virtual" live album. Despite not caring too much about radio play, this became the band's most popular record. "Shadow of an Angel" garnered quite a bit of radio play and "The Mansion on the Hill" became a sort of cult favorite among fans. In addition to the members of the band at the time (Jim Speese, Mark Steffy, Joe Donato and Pet Scarano) David Mattes, Alisa Anderson and D'arey October sang back-ups. The album was engineered by Craig Sockel and mixed and mastered by Tom Volpicelli of the Mastering House.
