Album
This album was recorded in 1984 on 4-track in a garage in Oak Grove, Oregon, just outside Portland. Songwriter, singer, guitarist Chris Newman recorded it on his 4-track, then distributed it at shows in Portland and Seattle. By the early 90s it was out of print and lost in time. Then, in 2011, Portland record store owner Jeffrey Larson digitized his 26-year-old copy of the tape, and returned it to the artist. This is a solid lo-fi album, and in it, with its use of quiet/loud dynamics, drop-d tuning, feedback, tremelo, and big muff fuzz, you can hear the seeds of grunge.
