This album is a short collection of 5 experimental piano pieces that are minimalist in nature. Inspired from the minimalist techniques of Steve Reich and others, Emperor Charlemagne has tried to conduct his own experiments in the piano field concerning the nature of musical repetition and its effect on timbre and the listener tuning in. These experiments are based on the principle that if something is repeated for long enough, its original meaning becomes muddied and eventually lost and a new meaning or understanding takes its place. This can be seen outside of music, where if you repeat a word over and over again, it feels weird for a while to say it afterward. The repetition has changed the understanding of the sound that created the word. Very tonal harmonies underpin the entire affair. Rather "white-key music". But still enjoyable.
