Parallel Lines is the third studio album by American rock band Blondie, produced by Australian Mike Chapman and released on September 8, 1978, by Chrysalis Records. An instant critical and commercial success, the album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart in February 1979 and proved to be the band's commercial breakthrough in the United States, where it reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in April 1979. It includes the singles "Hanging On The Telephone", "Sunday Girl", "Heart Of Glass", "Picture This", "I'm Gonna Love You Too" and "One Way Or Another" making this a veritable mini-greatest-hits collection. Blondie's third album also introduced the world to the six-member lineup that would go on to chart with four US and five UK number one singles: Clem Burke (drums), Jimmy Destri (keyboards), Nigel Harrison (bass), Debbie Harry (vocals), Frank Infante (guitar), and Chris Stein (guitar). The album went platinum in the UK, US and Canada. In Billboard magazine, Parallel Lines was listed at No. 9 in its top pop albums year-end chart of 1979.
