“Sunday Girl”, a single from Blondie’s third album Parallel Lines, was written by guitarist Chris Stein to cheer up vocalist Debbie Harry after her cat named Sunday Man ran away. The song was a number 1 hit in the UK and Ireland. It was never released as a single in the US and was the lead single for Parallel Lines in Australia but failed to chart until they re-released it with the single “Heart of Glass.” In 2014, the band re-recorded the track for their album Ghosts of Download in honor of the band’s 40th anniversary.
