Released August 7th, 2021,"Nothing Ever Happens Here" was written on two lead guitars to add an extra dimension to its soundscape and exhaust its melodic potential. In this sense, it takes from The Strokes in the way the two instruments converse and compliment each other. It is a climactic and theatrical song both musically and lyrically, where it takes from The Smiths in being a mercurial but romantic character sketch. It lightly addresses dark themes, only for the song's meandering, single minded dynamism to conclude in a way that leaves the listener satisfied.
