Northern Star is the first solo album released by Spice Girl Melanie C. It was released in 1999. The album contains significant elements of rock music, which contrasted with the pop sound of the Spice Girls. 'Go' was used as a main title soundtrack in the 2000 comedy Whatever It Takes starring James Franco and Shane West. 'Ga Ga' was featured in the 1999 comedy Big Daddy starring Adam Sandler, and also in Charmed's episode 2x10 Heartbreak City.
