The album was produced by band members Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, along with John Hill, Jennifer Decilveo, and Sam de Jong. Josh Carter mentioned that "Memory of a Day" was inspired by the period of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, which reminded them of their childhood in upstate New York.
