Album
Black Label Society is an American heavy metal band formed in 1998 by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Zakk Wylde. Best known for their powerful blend of Southern rock and heavy metal, the band first made waves with their debut album Sonic Brew, released in May 1999. Wylde, a long-time guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, initially envisioned the project as a solo endeavor but expanded it into a full-fledged band with a rotating lineup over the years. Their signature sound features crushing guitar riffs, melodic interludes, and Wylde’s distinctive pinch harmonics. Throughout their career, Black Label Society has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including The Blessed Hellride (2003) and Mafia (2005), which featured fan-favorite tracks such as “In This River” — a tribute to Wylde’s late friend, Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. The band’s high-energy live performances and dedicated fan base, known as the “Berserkers,” have cemented their reputation in the metal community. In addition to their musical output, Wylde’s branding of Black Label Society with custom vests and a strong visual identity has made them a recognizable force beyond just their music. They continue to tour extensively and release music, with their eleventh studio album Doom Crew Inc. arriving in 2021.
