Infinite Meniscus (formerly known as "emile") began recording music to accompany a children's story that Rob Patterson is currently working on in the spring of 2009. The story, inspired by classics such as Alice In Wonderland, The Milkyway Railroad, and His Dark Materials, revolves around music and creativity as a means to oppose negative aspects of life. The music of Infinite Meniscus is intended to invoke and enhance certain moods and atmospheres that are described in the story, but hopefully it stands on its own as well. The instruments thus far used to create the sounds are acoustic guitar, oboe (played by Amy Oberlin), voice, toy piano, Casiotone MT-520, a sample from Loren Chasse's "Fantasy of Heat" from Exfolia Motors (2000), a sample of Chris Watson's "Embleton Rookery" from Stepping Into the Dark (1996), and a sample of "scratched record" from Futurism and Dada Reviewed (2000). The music is and will continue to be available for free download here and more will be added as it is created.
