Album
"Hell and Silence" is the third extended play by Imagine Dragons, released on March 12, 2010. The self-produced EP continued the alternative-rock style of their eponymous EP of the year before, while making the band's heavy synths more accessible in nature. Every song on the EP was released as a single prior to the EP's release, with the lead single "Selene" being released on 30 September, 2009. While none of the singles saw commercial success, "I Don't Mind" and "Hear Me" became fan favorites and contributed to the band's early success at live shows, the latter being re-recorded as a UK-regional single for the band's debut album Night Visions two years later. The EP was re-released to streaming in 2021 along with the previously unreleased song "Easy", which fans theorize to not actually be a Hell and Silence song, but from the Smoke + Mirrors recording sessions. Interestingly, a UK website selling physical copies of the re-release had the bonus track instead listed as "Stars", an elusive unreleased song that fans had been searching for since 2009. However, this was realized to be an error and the site was updated to display the correct song. "Stars" would not be seen until 2025, when it appeared on demo album "The Itch".
