Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band formed in 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The group currently consists of lead singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, and bassist Ben McKee. Their debut single, "It’s Time", was released in February 2012 and reached the top 20 of several international charts. Their debut album, "Night Visions", released in September 2012, produced the singles "Radioactive" and "Demons" and reached number two on the United States charts. The album achieved platinum sales status by June 2013. "Radioactive" set a record for the most weeks charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and was described by Rolling Stone as the biggest rock hit of the year. MTV referred to the band as the year’s biggest breakout act, and Billboard named them its Breakthrough Band of 2013 and Biggest Band of 2017, while placing them first in its Year in Rock rankings for 2013, 2017, and 2018. The band also topped Billboard’s year-end Top Artists – Duo/Group category in 2018. Their second studio album, "Smoke + Mirrors" (2015), reached number one in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It was followed by "Evolve" (2017), which produced the singles "Believer", "Thunder", and "Whatever It Takes". These releases contributed to the band achieving the most cumulative weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart at the time, and the album reached the top five in multiple countries.
