Album
Extraordinary Renditions is an EP by Los Angeles, CA noise rock band The Deepsea Goes. It was originally recorded as a demo in early 2007. A year later the band re-recorded the songs & it was released by Transnational Debate Records in June of 2008. The demo version was distributed throughout the greater Los Angeles area in anonymous manila envelopes with cryptic messages & the address for Transnational Debate written on them. They were placed in clothing at thrift stores, bathrooms of prominent venues, magazines at supermarkets & used bins at record stores. The methods employed echoed the album title’s reference to the United States’ use of “extraordinary renditions” to secretly transfer & distribute prisoners from state to state.
