Album
ORAONEIROI is the second full-length release from the Los Angeles, CA noise rock band The Deepsea Goes. It was released by Transnational Debate Records on August 18th, 2009. The album follows the story of a man who leads two parallel realities & is forced to decide which of the two is just a dream. In one of the lives he leads, he is struggling in a crumbling post apocalyptic world; in the other life he leads a relatively calm existence with the woman he loves. As the album plays out he learns more about each of his lives & discovers why he created the one to deal with the other. This narrative is loosely based on a concept used as a plot device in the Demi Moore movie Passion of Mind. In the movie her character is torn between one life that she leads in France as a mother & widow or the life she leads in New York as a single business woman. The condition the character suffers from is a fictionalized version of a disorder called "dissociative fugue". The band saw the movie in a hotel room they stayed at in Idaho while they were stranded there due to a vehicle malfunction on tour. ORAONEIROI roughly translates to "dreamtime". ORAONEIROI was chosen as the title before any of the songs had been recorded. The "THERE IS NO..." format for the song titles was worked out prior to any of the lyrics being written. The songs THERE IS NO SPACE & THERE IS NO LIGHT were remixed by Triobelisk for a digital single. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA
