Exaggerate was Beats working's third album released in 1997, representing a gradual change in the writing style towards the sound of the critically acclaimed album 'Calm' of 2001 with its more psychodelic and progressive rock approach. A collection of well crafted guitar and keyboard based rock songs of alternative and classic style, mostly penned by guitarist and vocalist John Hardman, this album marks a period of transition in the band's sound.
